It's hard to believe, but even in mediterranean Merano we get the odd rainy day. But there's no need to worry - bad weather is an opportunity to discover a whole new side of Merano!
A visit to the thermal baths, shopping, castles and museums or a relaxing beauty day at the Meranerhof. Even when it rains, South Tyrol offers all kinds of things to experience:
Our wellness oasis is just waiting to pamper you - especially in bad weather! A soothing sauna session, relaxation in the Roman steam bath or a brave dive into the indoor pool, what do you do first? Our tip: Why not treat yourself to a massage or a treatment in our beauty area, your body and mind will thank you!
Wellness offerDirectly opposite the Classic Hotel Meranerhof is the Therme Merano, known and loved beyond the country's borders for their wide range of facilities. The indoor area extends over 15 pools and can be used all year round. The new relaxation rooms and the new indoor Kneipp pool offer even more relaxation while you watch the rain splashing outside.
Therme MeranoYou haven't yet found the time to look around for new favourite pieces? Shopping is the perfect activity for rainy and bad weather days in South Tyrol! Not only are you protected from the weather under Merano's arbours, but you will also find the finest boutiques, hippest fashion houses as well as tried and tested traditional shops. In the "Centrum" shopping centre you will find also some shops in one building.
Probably one of the largest and most popular museums in Merano remains the Touriseum: the history of South Tyrolean tourism is reappraised here in a playful way. Heroines of history are presented in the Merano Women's Museum, while Merano Art showcases contemporary pieces of art. Castle Tyrol houses the provincial museum of Culture and provincial History and will especially delight fans of the Middle Ages!
It is not for nothing that Merano is located in the heart of the "Burggrafenamts" - because the numerous castles and palaces became the namesakes of today's area. Whether Tyrol Castle, Schenna Castle, Trauttmansdorff Castle, the Stachelburg in Partschins or the Zenoburg at the entrance to the Passeier Valley, take advantage of South Tyrol in bad weather to explore the treasures of former advanced civilisations!
